The fruit (false fruit) has a sweet fragrance. It is edible, but much smaller than cultivated strawberries. The small fruit is freshly flavoured, making it suitable for fruit salads, fruit drinks, syrup and jam. Sow thinly in a greenhouse in seed trays, and cover with a thin layer of soil. Germination takes some time. Prick out once emerged. Suitable for pots, edges and rock gardens.
