A delicious and healthy addition to sandwiches, salads, etc. Contains plenty of vitamin C. Sow preferably in a greenhouse on account of the leaves turning red. Sow in rows, not too thickly and do not thin out. Grows fairly quickly in a greenhouse, allowing for an early harvest in October or November. The remaining plant grows once more (new growth) so that in early spring leaves can be harvested once more. Requires a substantial basic amount of fertilisation in the soil.
