The fairly tall plants produce attractive yellow flowers with a dark red heart. The fruits become hard and fibrous fairly quickly, so harvest early and regularly, also as new fruits would otherwise not form. The flavour is a cross between asparagus and aubergine. Do not damage roots when transplanting. The plant grows quickly and can be harvested in approx. 60 (summery) days. The unripe fruits must be plucked 4 to 5 days after flowering.
