Grows well lying on a compost heap, but for the best results guide the plant upwards and allow the fruit to hang. Wonderful fruits with a sturdy exterior, which can be made into excellent birdhouses when dry. Sow in a greenhouse in pots or seed trays in the warmth, harden off and transplant. Take care of night frost. Dry the fruit in a cool, dark place.
