Native of Holland. The “Meadow Clary or Meadow Sage” is very abundantly blooming plant and wonderfully aromatic. The field sage with its beautiful violet-blue flowers on the dark-colored stem loves a sunny spot. This spot is preferably calcareous and not too wet. Very attractive perennial plant for bees and bumble bees. Previously common on our river dikes and railroad verges. For a possible 2nd flowering in the late summer, it is preferable not to cut back (too much).
