Native of Holland. Also called “Snakeroot”. Has a spike-shaped inflorence with beautiful lilac-pink flowers and is very attractive for insects because of the nectar. Loves a slightly shaded spot, which may be quite damp. The perennial as ground cover must be kept in check since it can rapidly proliferate. The flowering period is abundant and extremely long. Sometimes dormant, so seed germination can take a long time!
