The flowers are cream-coloured and not very striking. The seed capsules in contrast are flaming orange-red, papery and lantern-shaped, containing bright-coloured berries. They remain in good condition on the plant for some time and are easy to dry. Beautiful in dry bouquets. Sow in the garden on a seedbed. Thin out or transplant preferably in an enclosed box or pot as the plant grows proliferately.
