Black Leaf Kale - Nero di Toscana
This ancient vegetable grows up like a palm and can withstand the cold. Lacinato kale is an old vegetable, known from the Tuscan 'ribollita', but also from the Portuguese cabbage soup 'caldo verde'. A nice alternative to leaf cabbage. Sow indoors from mid-April until the end of July. Plant out as soon as the plants are large enough.
