The red coneflower is very attractive to butterflies. It is a sturdy plant and among the prettiest of garden plants. The dark pink flowers with their orange-brown heart appear in July and August. The flowers also make ideal cut flowers. Grows quickly and produces masses of 'Mexican hat' flowers. Easy to cultivate from seed.
