The popular name Indian Blanket Flower arose due to the three most striking colours of the Gaillardia also being found in Indian carpets. Originates from the American plains and can withstand hot and dry conditions. Sow in a greenhouse when not too hot. Transplant in summer as soon as possible, so that they can enter the winter as sturdy plants.
