Perilla or Shiso - Purple leaved
In open ground in a seedbed from April-July. Prick out and then plant out, or sow directly outdoors in rows and thin out. One of the typical Japanese herbs, used for the Japanese 'Umeboshi' and for garnishes. Stalks and sprouts are served with 'Sashimi'.
