Garden Geraniums are hybrids of the South African Pelargonium zonale. Flowers are beautifully scarlet red. Geraniums used to be mainly for window sills but are now also popular as colourful pot plants in the garden or veranda. Sow indoors in the warmth. After emergence prick out in pots and harden off later. Suitable in groups, borders, flower beds and flower pots.
