The flower heads consist of quite striking cream-coloured flowers and fairly downy bracts. The single lancet-shaped leaves are also covered with white hairs, which protect the plants against cold and ultraviolet light. Sow in seed tray, then place in the freezer for one week. Afterwards allow the seeds to germinate at 18-22ºC. Prick out and transplant once large enough.
