Native of Holland. The common corn-cockle is an annual nostalgic field plant and was common in the Netherlands in the past. The plant is now rare due to mechanical seed cleaning. Are you lucky and find this plant? Be careful with the seeds, because while the flowers are very beautiful, the seeds are poisonous. In the Netherlands this plant is only found in areas where there are rivers, Twente and South Limburg, as the number has decreased sharply.
