Common name : white mustard, yellow mustard
When sown in spring, mustard produces small yellow flowers in the summer. The mustard plant hasa taproot and can root quite deeply into the soil. If used as a green manure it is best to sow in August/September. Loosen the soil well before sowing. Distance between rows: 20cm; and the sowing depth is ca. 2cm. Mow the crop first to make it easier to dig over. Mustard easily absorbs nitrogen and, after digging over, quickly releases it for the next crop.
